Robert “Bob” Nelson Harris passed away on August 25, 2023 at the age of 91. Born on a farm in Montpelier, Virginia on July 7, 1932, Bob always kept his roots close to heart. He joined the Navy in 1951, serving in the Korean War as a RMSN. After his service, he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Richmond and continued on to become a CPA. He then worked in the banking industry until his retirement in 1997.

To anyone who met Bob, he had a magnetic charm that would captivate the room at any party. Yet in private, Bob was a quiet, contemplative man. He loved the outdoors and was a passionate gardener. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years Gloria, their daughter Sara Siegel and her husband Zachary, and grandson Miles Siegel. He is also survived by his children from his first marriage to Phyllis Harris: Robin Harris, Randy Harris and his wife Wanie, his grandchildren Joanna Harris, Raleigh Harris, and his great-granddaughters Hannah Harris and Charlotte Harris, and his sisters Rebecca Doss and her husband Roger, and Carolyn Richardson and her husband Don.  He was preceded in death by his parents Earl Vaughan and Mary Tiller Harris and his brother Wayland Vaughan Harris.
